The Man Who Walked On The Moon

We have been learning about people's virtues for R.E. We had to choose a person that we know and design their virtues into a poster.

The Wonderful Insect

Butterflies are small delicate insect that are usually seen between Spring and Summer. They are in the insect order Lepidoptera which has 150,000 species, moths are within the order. They fly by day while their close cousins the moths fly by night.

Butterflies have microscopic scales on their wings but the more they fly, the scales falls off gradually making them lose their colour. Butterfly species have their own design or pattern on their wings which makes them unique.

They have some enemies of their own. They protect themselves by releasing some chemicals from plants they have eaten. The toxic also allows the wings to change into brightly coloured wings which warns predators to keep away.

Some species of butterflies migrate long distances like the famous Monarch Migration. Some of the butterflies migrate great distances because of the season (like the Monarch Butterfly which migrates in Autumn). Sadly some of the butterflies that travel dies whilst travelling the distance other die from diseases or from aging.

Butterflies eat nectar from flowers. Some also get nourishment from pollen, tree sap, rotting fruit, rotting flesh and dissolved minerals from wet sand and dirt.

They are also important pollinators for some plants along with bees even though they are not able to carry more pollen than bees but they are able to travel longer distance with it.

Butterflies are very unique that it has captured lots of artists’ attentions. Design of butterflies have been carved out since the beginning of time and are also are also seen in Egyptian hieroglyphs over 3500 years ago.

If butterflies weren’t here on earth the earth wouldn’t be as bright and colourful as it is now.

Xbox Fail

Last Sunday, my family and I went to church. It was a special Mass last week because one of the priests is turning 30 on Tuesday the 21st of May. At the end of the mass, there was cake for everyone and no one was to leave the square without a piece.

After Mass, we went to Sylvia Park to shop for food. We bought lots of things and reached our maximum spending. When we finished shopping my dad packed the food into the car, while my mum, little brother and I went to Dick Smith since my brother got a gift card for his birthday.

It took a long time for my little brother to pick what he wanted, until we got to the gaming section. We saw a head set for my Xbox on sale and we wanted it badly. “No” Said mum. We waited for dad come and when he did we asked him instead but in the end we didn’t get to buy it.

We went to KFC for lunch and then we went home. My brother and I took out the Xbox and played NBA for a while. We kept playing until my brother said he was too tired and wanted to watch me instead. So I played NBA league and I had an awesome time. When the match finished I looked at how much I scored. I had 21 and I was going to be the man of the match! But then I accidently pressed the eject button with my toe and the game stopped and the disk came out. “ No! All my hard work for nothing. The game didn’t save! Why does it always happen to me?” I wailed. So I turned it off and went off to watch some television.

Next week I hope I don’t accidentally press it again or the console might crash. I can’t wait until next week.
